Dear Members and Athletes,
Welcome to the 2016 Program.
After what was appearing to be a repeat of 2015 mother nature finally delivered one of the best starts to the season in years.
We are so pleased to have our head Instructor Damien and Margie returning this year and once again we have a great team of instructors. We would like to acknowledge and welcome Michael Milton and Manuel to the team. Michael and Manuel bring another dimension to the club with a racing background and Olympic and World Cup Representation which will further enrich the TSMSRC experience for the athletes.
We would also like to thank Thredbo Snow Sports, Ski Patrol, Mountain Crew and our sponsors for the continued support of our great club.
Since our last newsletter in 2015 we are happy to report that TSMSRC has once again been recognised by Ski and Snowboard Australia (SSA) as an official pathway for athlete programs.
Fundraising was conducted during the off season with members and athletes donating their time, catering for clearance sales operated by Nick Kirshner Property and Livestock. Additional sponsorship was provided by Melray Meats and Elgas for these events.
A big thankyou to all the parents, children and athletes whom assisted in donating their time and money in making this happen and to our sponsors, especially Nick & Des Kirshner for offering this great opportunity. We would also like to acknowledge the anonymous committee member whom prepared for and managed these events.
Please support the sponsors whom support us!
A big congratulations to those athletes whom competed in the 2015 Interschools Nationals for their respective Schools, a great effort indeed.
Congratulations to Peter and Madeline Breunig, Memphis Forrest, Maddie Kirshner and Catarina Di Ramio
With Interschools 2016 competition already commencing for some of our athletes the committee would like to take the opportunity to wish all competing athletes all the best in the representation of their respective schools in their chosen discipline.
TSMSRC will offer gate training this year as part of the standard program in preparation for Southern/ACT Interschools competition.
Last year the club had 2 athletes represent the club @ the Children’s Nationals competition in all disciplines; GS, Slalom and Skier Cross. It was great to see the club represented, and a big congratulations to Maddie and Catarina.
Additionally these athletes have attended SSA skills assessment programs and off season fitness camps in preparation for the 2016 season.
Once again we are seeking expressions of interest from Athletes wishing to compete at this level of racing in 2016.
Those wishing to compete please contact Nick Kirshner directly.

The rapid start to the season resulted in a delay in clearing the clubhouse for our first day.
We wish to thank those members whom assisted the committee and Mountain MAN David Van Der Platt in making the clubhouse operational in preparation for lunch. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Given the large number of athletes in this year’s program lunchtime may be staggered by 15-30 minutes as the instructors see fit.
If there are any issues in relation to this please contact the Mountain MAN or a committee member.
Additionally members are asked to consider the need to be in the clubhouse during this period, the priority is given to athletes, Instructors and parents of athletes enrolled in the program.
